from trees in your own backyard. Stroll
through the park and see the “sap to syrup” process and sample a snack-sized

At 4:30pm----meet at the Bob Heun shelter at
Kennedy Park and join fellow land stewards in a ditch clean-up along Nelson
Ave., followed by a barbecue for the volunteers.
At 6:00pm----barbeque for the volunteers! Also enjoy a viewing of Iowa’s Lost
Landscape, an excellent documentary of Iowa’s prairie heritage.
At 7:00pm----meet at the Bob Heun shelter at
Kennedy Park for a lesson in prairie management followed by lighting up the
night sky with a prairie burn on the north side of Badger Lake (weather
permitting).
