Iowa ranks # 1 in the country in high school graduation rates, with a rate of 88%. (U.S. Department of Education)  Fort Dodge Senior High has a graduation rate of 90.5% with 80% attending post-secondary education and St. Edmonds has a 100% graduation rate with 99% attending post-secondary education. (2011-2012 graduation year)


Fort Dodge offers students a wide range of educational options; k-12 public and private school systems, Iowa Central Community College and Buena Vista University.  The public school district is Fort Dodge Community Schools while accredited private schools include St. Edmonds Catholic Schools, Community Christian School and St. Paul Lutheran School All of our schools are strongly supported by teachers, parents and our community. Every year our community welcomes students from across the country and world into our community.

Iowa Central Community College is engaged in growing and promoting the standard of living and economic health of the region. Working with individuals, communities, existing and emerging businesses within the region, Iowa Central provides resources and programming that is essential to remain competitive and thrive. By partnering with companies to train incumbent workers as well as training students ensures a skilled workforce today and tomorrow. Iowa Central has grown 45% in the past 10 years and continues to grow to assist the region.
